Boconnion Weddings: where planning, ceremony and trust come together.

Caroline Griffiths – Wedding Planner in Cornwall

When I established Boconnion as a wedding venue in 2020, my vision was simple but very intentional: to create a place where weddings felt personal, flexible and beautifully run — not formulaic, rushed or restricted by rigid rules.

From the very beginning, one of the most important relationships behind Boconnion weddings has been the one I share with celebrant Lisa Flahant from Celebrant in Cornwall. Lisa has worked with me from the start, and over the years we’ve built not just a professional partnership, but a deep understanding of how to deliver ceremonies and celebrations that genuinely work — for couples, guests and the flow of the day as a whole.

As a wedding planner in Cornwall, I’ve learned that the success of a wedding often comes down to who you choose just as much as where you choose. And nowhere is that more evident than in the relationship between planner and celebrant.

Building Boconnion with flexibility at its heart

Boconnion was never designed to be a “one-size-fits-all” wedding venue. From day one, flexibility has been central to everything we do — particularly when it comes to ceremonies in Cornwall.

Civil ceremonies are often the emotional anchor of the wedding day, and yet they’re frequently treated as something to be slotted into a narrow window with little room for creativity or adjustment. At Boconnion, we’ve worked hard to ensure couples have genuine choice: in timing, location, structure and feel.

That flexibility only works, however, when the people delivering it are completely aligned. Having a celebrant like Lisa, who understands both the legal framework and the emotional significance of a ceremony, allows us to offer couples far more than a standardised experience. Together, we can adapt to weather, guest movement, personal preferences and last-minute changes — without stress, drama or compromise.

Why the relationship between your planner and celebrant matters

Couples often ask me what makes a wedding day truly run smoothly. The answer is rarely about décor or schedules — it’s about relationships behind the scenes.

When a wedding planner in Cornwall and a celebrant in Cornwall have a strong, established working relationship, it changes everything. Communication is clearer. Decisions are faster. Problems are solved quietly. The couple feels held, not managed.

Lisa and I instinctively understand how the ceremony fits into the wider rhythm of the day. We plan it together — not in isolation — ensuring that timings, guest experience and emotional pacing all make sense. That joined-up approach is something couples feel, even if they can’t quite articulate why their day felt so calm and effortless.

And when unexpected moments arise — as they always do — having two key suppliers who trust each other completely makes all the difference. The couple never needs to know what was handled behind the scenes. They simply get to enjoy their wedding.

Experience, value and being honest about price

It’s also important to be upfront about something else: yes, working with experienced professionals like Lisa and myself may cost more than some alternatives.

But what you’re paying for isn’t just time on the day. You’re investing in years of experience, deep local knowledge, established relationships, and the confidence that comes from knowing your wedding is being handled by people who genuinely care about doing things properly. You’re paying for calm under pressure, for flexibility when plans shift, and for a level of personal attention that simply can’t be replicated at lower price points.

As a wedding planner in Cornwall, I’ve seen first-hand how corners cut early on often lead to stress later. What couples consistently tell us, after the wedding, is that the value lies in how supported they felt — and how free they were to actually enjoy their day.

Boconnion weddings, from 2020 to now

Since launching Boconnion in 2020, I’ve watched it grow into a venue known for relaxed, thoughtful and beautifully executed weddings. Lisa has been part of that journey from the very beginning, helping to shape the standard and tone of the ceremonies held here.

Together, we’ve delivered weddings that range from elegantly traditional to quietly unconventional — always grounded in warmth, professionalism and genuine care for the couple at the centre of it all.

That same approach travels beyond Boconnion too. Whether couples are planning ceremonies in Cornwall at a private estate, a marquee, or somewhere completely unique, the principles remain the same: flexibility, trust, and a shared commitment to doing things well.

Choosing the right team for your Cornwall wedding

If you’re planning a wedding in Cornwall and want more than a checklist — if you want a ceremony with meaning and a day that flows naturally — then choosing suppliers who already work seamlessly together is one of the best decisions you can make.

At Boconnion, and beyond, Lisa at Celebrant in Cornwall and I offer couples exactly that: a partnership built over time, rooted in experience, and focused entirely on delivering weddings that feel personal, calm and deeply rewarding.

If that resonates with you, I’d love to talk.
