An English Garden Wedding at Home - St Kew
Fox and Annabel’s Magical Garden Wedding in St Kew Cornwall.
Some weddings stay with you long after the last candle has burned down. This was one of those. When Fox and Annabel first got in touch with me about their St Kew wedding, I was so thrilled. St Kew is a beautiful place in Cornwall and as they were also having it in their own garden it made it even more special, so I was immediately excited. They were planning the most magical wedding with hedgerow flowers, a relaxed vibe, local seafood and cocktails in the garden. Fox and Annabel are the sweetest people and totally in love so I couldn’t wait to share their special day.
An English Garden Wedding at Home
Set in the couple’s own garden, this English garden wedding was deeply personal, effortlessly beautiful, and rooted in what weddings have always been about: love, family, and a sense of place.
The day unfolded naturally, without rush or rigidity. Wild flowers grew freely throughout the garden, arranged as though they had always belonged there — nothing over-styled, nothing forced. Just soft colour, movement, and that unmistakable English charm.
The ceremony itself took place along a magical woodland walk at the edge of the garden. Guests wandered through dappled light and birdsong to reach the clearing, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by trees, emotion, and a stillness that can’t be recreated indoors. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, not for show, but for meaning. Personal touches were woven into every moment — from readings to music choices — making it feel intimate and profoundly theirs.
A solo guitarist played throughout the ceremony, setting a gentle, soulful tone. It was understated and utterly perfect. No grand theatrics — just music that let the moment breathe.
The hand-tying ceremony was one of the most beautiful parts of the day. Whimsical, symbolic, and quietly powerful, it felt timeless — a nod to tradition without being bound by it. You could feel the weight of the promise being made, and the joy that came with it.
Food followed the same thoughtful approach. A seafood-infused menu celebrated the best of local produce, fresh and unfussy, designed to be enjoyed rather than admired. Dessert was a love letter to England itself: delicate pavlovas, crisp on the outside and soft within, topped with seasonal fruit — simple, elegant, and nostalgic in the best way.
What made this wedding unforgettable wasn’t just the setting or the styling. It was the feeling. A day filled with warmth, intention, and genuine love. A reminder that when couples stay true to themselves and honour what really matters, the result is something quietly extraordinary.
“We had imagined our wedding - as no doubt many couples do. We wanted beauty, magic and a unique way to celebrate our love and commitment to each other. Every step of the way, Caroline was there. Unflappable, unfazeable. Never daunted by the requests, never failing to grasp the vision we had. Without her we simply could not have pullled off the most extraordinary day - one that will be talked about for years to come. If you are wondering whether it is worth the money then stop and dismiss that entirely. Caroline’s fee will be the best investment you could possibly make. Every single penny worth the endless skill, experience and energy she brings. ”
